One of my favourite ways to study the Bible is to read whole books in one or two sittings. I categorize the books by chapter length and go from there. I like to pick verses that have spoken to me and/or are interesting. I had a book that I kept my favourite verses and notes in, but I can't find it; so, I'm chronicling it on my blog so I know it'll be just a click away :D

2 John vs. 2
For the truth's sake, which dwelleth in us, and shall be with us for ever.
[The first thought that came to mind when I read this verse was, "Another verse that proves assurance of salvation!". Jesus Christ is Truth, and once we repent of our sins and ask Him to save us--we are in the Father's hand for eternity.]
3 John vs. 3
For I rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in thee, even as thou walkest in the truth.
[Am I walking in truth? Or is my life a contradiction?]
Jude vs. 22&23
And of some have compassion, making a difference: And others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating eve the garment spotted by the flesh.
[There are many people who seek to make a difference in the world with their lives. I'm no different. The greatest difference I can make is to share the Gospel with my co-workers, family, and friends and see the Lord work the miracle of new birth in their hearts and lives.]
Obadiah vs. 3&4
The pride of thine heart hath deceived thee, thou that dwellest in the clefts of the rock, whose habitation is high; that saith in his heart, Who shall bring me down to the ground? Though thou exalt thyself as the eagle, and though thou set thy nest among the stars, thence will I bring thee down, saith the LORD.
[Pride. It does so much damage when you allow it to be your way of life.]
Philemon vs. 21
Having confidence in thy obedience I wrote unto thee, knowing that thou wilt also do more than I say.
[Am I known for going the extra mile--consistently? Or do I just do the minimum in life?
